Venus, the Brilliant one
The brightest object in the sky other than the Sun and Moon. Venus is often referred to as the Morning or Evening star and it is the cause of many UFO "sightings" due to its intense brilliance. In the telescope, Venus shows little more to the novice observer than its phase. Observers or imagers equipped with UV filters can often capture cloud details on Venus. I'm hoping when I upgrade my CCD camera to a mono chipped, to employ a UV filter to attempt the same.
